Update on River Conditions:

We have and will continue to have water just like our pictures and video show. River conditions in our neighborhood remain constant and we have a gorgeous stretch of river with combined flow from both the Comal and the Guadalupe River.

There has been recent media coverage regarding the lowering of Lake McQueeney and some smaller lakes down river.  River Haven’s area has not been effected by these current events.

River Haven is located directly on the Guadalupe River.  Further downriver it becomes Lake Placid.  Lake Placid’s reservoir has remained lower since October 2021 which did have some effect on lowering the water level along the river at River Haven. Its primary effect was that boats can no longer access our area. However the flow of the river has not changed, only the depth which now remains around 6’ deep and we now have more of a nice pebble rock beach front access into the water.

Effects on Rentals:  Based on conversations, guest feedback and reviews it seems people actually like the river better since it was lowered back in 2021.  The beach like access seems more suitable to kids swimming and playing and guests really seem to enjoy walking up and down the banks of the river.  Since it was lowered in 2021 we have had zero cancellations or complaints. We truly have had only positive feedback, and many if not all of our long term repeat guests have stated they actually prefer the river remained lower.

All reviews since October 2021 are written by guests who stayed at River Haven after the water level was lowered in 2021. If you are curious what it’s like with the lower water levels, please read through all the reviews. And please refer to our online pictures and video to see the beauty of our water falls and see for yourself what the river continues to look like here at River Haven.

Benefits of the current lower water levels:  MORE accessible, better for kids, great for fishing, kayaking, tubing and paddle boarding. Come enjoy it!!!
