“River Haven was a perfect getaway for our Thanksgiving gathering. It has beautiful views from multiple bedrooms and dinning room. The kitchen was spacious and fully stocked with utensils and cookware.
There was more than enough space for our entire family (22 for dinner) to be seated together.
The entertainment system was easy to navigate and the Riverside dock was a perfect place to sit and reflect.
The attention to detail was impressive: fire extinguisher near the campfire, double trash bins in the kitchen, nightlights through the hallways, and a fully decorated Christmas tree in the living area made our feel holiday just like a home.
We will treasure our memories at River Haven and know you will too.”

This home was perfect for our cousin trip. The many bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchenettes gave everyone ample space to call their own. We loved having a guest house to use also. “Perfect spot for a family getaway.
The house was clean and surprisingly, could fit our large family of 30. The backyard and the river was perfect for games and outdoor activities. From grandparents to 2 year olds, we had lots of fun at the house. The bedrooms are a little small, but dinning and living was large enough to fit all of us at a time. There were enough space for everything and the Kayaks were dropped off/picked up in the backyard which made life so much more easier.Overall this is a perfect place and would recommend it to anyone.”

“Beautiful location and private. We didn’t bring a large group with us on our trip, but this house would have been perfect for it. Great set up for large families or groups. Owners were great to work with and incredibly thoughtful. My favorite part was watching the sunrise with my daughter from the dock. You can’t recreate that sort of beauty. We even got a visit from an owl, which was so cool. If you want a great river location with magnificent shade trees, this place has it! We had a great time.”
“Great home for large groups. We had 30 people for a bit of a family reunion, and the River Haven was a fantastic spot for it. It was well stocked and had plenty of great amenities. Having a separate guest house was convenient for the night owls to be separate from the kids, so they could sleep in. We did everything! We cooked, we kayaked (brought our own), we swam, we rented jet skis, we had a bon fire and s’mores, we played frisbee, ladder ball, tether ball, we fished, we relaxed, we brought our game systems and gamed. The layout of the bedrooms is a bit odd, but no one minded it. Walmart and H-E-B are 15 min away. The check out instructions are basic and easy. “This was our fourth year to have our annual multigeneration family vacation/reunion at the Riverhaven. Thank you to Darius and Carlos for keeping their property well maintained and for checking in with us throughout our stay to make sure we have everything we need. The large shaded yard is perfect for the elderly, the pregnant moms and the babies to enjoy outdoor fun with everyone during the day and evening. Love the large firepit. We have firepit night with roasted weiners, hotdogs, frito pie and smores while we watch a movie on our blow up outdoor screen. Thanks for another memorable family vacation. “Beautiful Weekend. Home had everything we needed and more. Kitchen is fully stocked which made cooking meals a breeze. We made bbq on the first night and the large gas grill was much appreciated. Husband loved that thing lol. The floating mat was the highlight of the kids weekend. Was hilarious watching them do flips and cannon balls off of it. Everything was just as pictured. “Just what our family needed. We had originally booked this lovely home to celebrate our grandmothers birthday but sadly she left us a few month ago prior to our stay. We all decided to proceed with the trip and do what she had been so excited to do while on the river. Fish and sit around the fire pit. And that's exactly what we did. The River Haven helped turn what was one of the hardest times in our lives into a wonderful weekend full of laughter and happy tears. “Perfect big family getaway! This beautiful and spacious home was exactly what our family was looking for on our destination Christmas holiday. It is beautifully furnished, with tasteful and inviting decor. Between the many rooms, multiple tvs and entertainment options, spacious deck with lovely views, the dock and the fire pit area, we never felt like we were on top of each other. We had multiple family members pop in on different days to hang out and catch up, and all were impressed by this great home. From my 97 year-old grandfather to my five year-old twin girls, we all had a wonderful, relaxing and peaceful time. It was a perfect way to spend our Christmas together. We definitely plan to be back some day!”

“Great House for a large group! Close to so much! Driving up we were wondering if we were in the right place as the house doesn’t look very big. From the back though you can see how large it is and the immense number of bedrooms made it fantastic for our company Christmas weekend trip. Well appointed, homey and spacious with everything you could need. Huge fire pit in the backyard with a long dock for sitting by the Guadalupe River — it was just great! Darius was great to work with and we had a great time.”
“A great retreat for large groups. The River Haven was a wonderful place for all our family to be together for Thanksgiving. The place was very comfortable and spacious. We loved the main kitchen, which was fully stocked. Having the other two kitchens was a treat providing plenty of room for our famous cooks to make their delicious dishes in a timely manner. “Very Enjoyable perfect set-up for lots of people! Our company planned a weekend outing of floating the river to blow off some steam. We had 22 males stay here and we were in no way cramped. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out and enjoy their time. There is something for everyone in the group here. Between fishing, swimming, campfires, music, tv, movie room, etc. it is impossible to come here and be bored. We had a personal chef come and cook our meals. Beyond Expectations. Our family loved everything this home has to offer! It was perfect for our family reunion/64th birthday for our dad. The fisherman really enjoyed catching catfish all night while the little ones roasted marshmallows and hotdogs for dinner. The kitchen is VERY well stocked and we had no problem with serving the 26 people in our group. It was pretty hot outside during the dates we stayed but the river as well as the ac in the home kept us cool no problem. The floating mat off the dock was probably our favorite part which wasn’t even advertised when we booked a year ago so it was a great surprise when we arrived! The night time lighting is also very pretty and offered plenty of light for night time games in the yard. The house is HUGE and offered so much room to spread out. Everyone had a place to sleep and they don’t cram a bunch of bunk beds in the rooms which we all really appreciate. Carlos was amazing to work with and the whole booking process was super easy. A great place to get the family together for some time away from it all. Sixteen of us gathered here for an extended weekend break. We were comfortable, never felt crowded, and really had a lot of fun making memories together. The water was great and the location was perfect. The owners live nearby and are responsive if you need anything resolved, but that is unlikely since they have it ready when you arrive. We'll be back! - Dan E. , July, 2018

We celebrated my Dad's 70th birthday with a family reunion the weekend before the 4th of July. There were 18 adults, and 9 kids, including 3 under 4 years old. We shared multiple family meals each day, and we spent the majority of our days down in the river or on the dock. It was hot outside, but the A/C was cold, and we all slept comfortably! Everyone enjoyed the fact that we were all able to stay 4 nights in the same house together with countless opportunities to catch up, visit, and play games together. River Haven was the perfect location for our long overdue extended family reunion on the Guadalupe River! Carlos and Darius were great to work with and super helpful. The grounds were beautiful—from the large lawn, beautiful, sprawling pecan trees and live oaks, to the dock, fire pit, and great lighting for evening activities (like 9 kids playing hide-and-seek tag!). First thing in the morning, the kids would grab breakfast, suit up and head down for a game of “sea monster” on the awesome floating mat. One of our families brought a boat, and Carlos prepared the dock for us to be able to dock it. The kitchens were more than well equipped (almost too well equipped—some cabinet space could be opened up by removing some of the additional appliances...the main kitchen alone had about 5 coffee makers 😂). We prepared our own meals most nights—each family took a turn. Loved eating dinner together on the back deck. And coffee in the morning on the deck with the beautiful view of the river was the best. The rooms were clean, and there was plenty of room for all 21 of us! This was a perfect escape for us to recreate our TX Guadalupe summers for our kids. Not sure we will ever have all of us together in TX again, but if we do, we wouldn’t hesitate to rent River Haven again. - David G. June, 2018

We had a church “family” gathering of 23 people over Memorial Day Weekend. This was a great property for our family with several bedrooms. Feeding such a large group we were concerned about the refrigerator space, however three refrigerators more than accommodated our needs. The home was well air conditioned and had no problem keeping us cool on a very hot weekend! The river was much quieter than expected for a holiday weekend. The yard is lush, well shaded and big enough for many activities. The swim area around the dock seems to be 4-8 feet deep which was perfect for floating and "keep away". The neighbors were even friendly! We brought our own kayak, “john” boat and floats. The owners were easy to reach if needed and even offered area attraction recommendations, although there really is no reason to leave the river! This house really is a hidden oasis on the Guadalupe river! The home was clean, had charm and worked well for our group. I would highly recommend this rental for a variety of functions. - Angela W. "Beautiful, peaceful location-- fun for the entire family! We came down for July 4th week and the house and the location were both fabulous! There is so much room to accommodate multiple families and give everyone separate spaces so you don't feel like you are on top of each other, but plenty of room to gather together either in the living areas or outside on the wonderful dock and decks overlooking the river. The kitchen was well stocked with every tool we needed. The kids loved the media / video game room -- just an added bonus to all the the fun we had on the river. "Great Place for the Winter Months: My family has traveled down south to this home every winter for the past 4 years to get away from all the heavy snow up north. The colder weather here is much more favorable and the homes indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit are wonderful to have. Drinking coffee on the dock every morning is very relaxing as well. The lake water was a bit chilly but the weather was nice and warm and didn't bother us at all while floating out in front of the homes dock. "Beautiful 5 Star Retreat - This place is beautiful!! Every room is joyful to the eyes! It is comfortable and well appointed. There's plenty of room to gather and there's private to semi-private bedrooms to accommodate various needs. The view is amazing with large windows, huge trees and the lovely river in the backyard! Everything is in top working condition! The kitchen and surrounding bar is lovely! The downstairs has bar and a fooseball table which is another fun place to gather. It was cold this time of years and the owners provided firewood for us to enjoy a cozy fire in the fireplace. The outside decks, seating and grill are lovely also the deck and seating alongside the river! It is a fabulous place for a large group to enjoy!
